Bunkering firm Island Oil has added the bunker vessel Ruby to its fleet, strengthening the company’s operational capacity in Cyprus and the wider region.
The firm held a Greek Orthodox blessing ceremony on board the Ruby earlier this week, following long-standing maritime tradition. Crew members and company staff attended the event, wishing the vessel fair winds and safe voyages as she begins service under Island Oil’s ownership.
Ruby is a sister vessel to Astraia and is designed specifically for bunker supply operations. The firm said the addition will enhance both flexibility and reliability in meeting its customers’ marine fuel requirements.
As part of her arrival in Cyprus, Ruby passed directly in front of Island Oil’s seafront offices, marking what the company described as a special moment for the team.
The new vessel is set to support Island Oil’s commitment to maintaining high service standards, safety and operational continuity across its supply network.
