Hong Lam Marine has marked a major milestone with the keel-laying of its new 7,999 DWT product oil and chemical bunkering tanker at Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard in China on 1 December 2025.

The vessel is intended to strengthen the company’s clean bunkering capabilities and support emissions reduction efforts across the region.

The IMO II tanker is designed for alternative-fuel operations and will be capable of carrying methanol and other chemical cargoes.

Hong Lam Marine said the vessel will feature an advanced power management system with lithium battery support, enabling peak-shaving and battery-assisted cargo operations. This configuration is expected to cut high-demand energy charges and deliver operational cost savings.

The company extended its appreciation to the Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard team, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore and its internal project team for their coordinated work in achieving this milestone.

The vessel is scheduled to join the Hong Lam Marine fleet upon completion of construction and commissioning.
