Sea Cargo Charter appoints 13 board members

New Delhi, March 22, 2021: In its first annual meeting in March 2021, Sea Cargo Charter appointed 13 members to its board, including formally electing the chair and vice-chair who served in interim positions during the formation of the association.

According to the reports published in seatrade-maritime.com Sea Cargo Charter aims to promote decarbonization of shipping by providing a framework to benchmark the climate alignment of chartering activities.

Trafigura’s Rasmus Bach Nielsen will serve as vice-chair of the steering committee.

The board comprises significant charters including ADM, COFCO International, Maersk Tankers, Norden, Louis Dreyfus, Total, Anglo American, Dow, Equinor and Klaveness.

“I welcome all my newly appointed colleagues to the Steering Committee and look forward to working with them to ensure that the Sea Cargo Charter remains true to its mission of promoting responsible environmental stewardship in chartering activities and throughout the maritime value chain,” says Jan Dieleman, President, Cargill Ocean Transportation and Chair of the Sea Cargo Charter Association.
