Digital bunker platform Ofiniti says more than 24,000 bunker operations have been completed on its digital platform in 2025, highlighting how quickly suppliers are moving toward standardised, paperless workflows as alternative fuels expand.
The firm reports that suppliers using its system delivered about 500,000 mt of alternative fuels during the year, including the first documented supplies of 100% bio-LNG and B100 UCOME.
Ofiniti says the shift to fuels such as biofuels, LNG, methanol and ammonia is driving a sharp increase in documentation, verification and safety requirements that manual processes struggle to support.
The company’s platform aims to reduce that burden by giving suppliers, receivers and surveyors a shared dataset and a clear digital custody chain for each delivery. Ofiniti estimates that digital operations save around 45 minutes per stem, lowering operational stress and reducing time spent on manual paperwork.
The firm says the rise to 24,000 digital operations shows that digitalisation and decarbonisation are no longer separate agendas in bunkering, but part of a single transition already underway.
