Portuguese biofuel bunker producer PRIO has delivered a B30 marine biofuel blend to a tanker operated by Uni-Tankers in Portugal.
PRIO said it supplied a 210 mt stem of B30 biofuel to the vessel MT Denmark. The company said the blend can reduce tank-to-wake CO₂ emissions by 27.1% compared with LSMGO.
The supplier did not disclose where the bunkering operation took place.
PRIO said the biofuel was produced, stored and supplied from its integrated energy complex in Aveiro, located within the Port of Aveiro, which supports the distribution of advanced biofuels to marine customers.
B30 blends are increasingly being used as a drop-in option by ship operators seeking immediate emissions reductions from existing vessels without major technical changes.
