Greek tanker owner Avin International has joined the Ahti Pool with its tanker fleet as shipowners prepare for the first compliance year under FuelEU Maritime.
Avin manages a fleet of around 35 oil and chemical tankers and has invested in energy-saving technologies and future-ready tonnage, including ammonia-ready vessels.
FuelEU Maritime entered into force from 1 January 2025. The EU regulation aims to reduce the greenhouse gas intensity of energy used on board ships calling at EU ports, with requirements tightening over time.
