Sonan Energy Panama, a subsidiary of London-based marine fuel supplier Sonan Bunkers, has appointed David Ortiz as Trading Manager.
The move comes as the company builds out its presence in the Americas following the launch of its Panama office last year.
Ortiz brings close to a decade of experience in bunker trading, having started his career in Dubai in 2016 before spending several years in the US market. His background also includes four years of service in the US Marine Corps, with assignments in the United States and Afghanistan.
“His professional experience across Asia, Europe, and the Americas brings significant value to the continued growth of Sonan Energy Panama and the development of our new office,” said Hernán Ortiz, Managing Director of Sonan Bunkers.
Now based in Panama, Ortiz will lead trading activities for the unit and support efforts to expand the company’s footprint in the region.
