Norwegian marine battery supplier Corvus Energy AS and BYD Energy Storage have entered a new phase of cooperation focused on developing advanced battery systems for shipping.
The companies signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement covering the joint development of LFP battery technology for marine applications.
The deal follows an earlier memorandum of understanding signed in December last year and expands cooperation between the two firms on next-generation maritime energy storage systems.
Under the agreement, the companies will combine BYD Energy Storage’s battery cell production capabilities with Corvus Energy’s marine battery integration expertise for vessels operating in demanding marine environments.
The partnership will also include collaboration on research, certification and wider deployment of marine battery systems in international shipping markets.
Fredrik Witte said the cooperation would support the delivery of scalable LFP battery solutions while maintaining the safety and operational standards required in the maritime industry.
