Nereida Energy has acquired the maritime battery business of Haf Power Solutions (HPS), strengthening its position in the marine battery market.
The deal includes the transfer of the Aegir battery platform, related intellectual property, ongoing customer projects and order backlog. Financial details were not disclosed.
Nereida said the acquisition expands its product offering with a commercially proven battery platform used in vessels such as aquaculture service ships and high-speed passenger ferries.
As part of the agreement, ACEL Group will become a strategic shareholder in Nereida through a share-based transaction.
“This acquisition fits perfectly into our strategy of building a leading independent maritime battery company,” said Geir Bjørkeli, CEO of Nereida Energy.
Haf Power Solutions will continue as an electrical system integrator following the sale, focusing on supplying technology-independent power systems to the maritime industry.
The announcement follows Nereida’s recent NOK 32 million funding round backed by Norwegian investors.
