TMC Compressors has secured a contract from Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) to supply marine compressed air systems for 10 MR product tankers being built for Central Group.
The company will provide a complete compressed air package for each 50,000-dwt tanker, including service air compressors and control air compressors. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to TMC, the vessels are based on a GSI design that complies with the latest international regulations and IMO Tier III emissions standards. The tankers also incorporate energy-saving technologies and environmentally friendly systems.
TMC said the contract reflects growing demand for energy-efficient ship equipment as shipowners and yards increasingly prioritise lower-emission vessel designs. The Oslo-based company specialises in compressed air systems for the marine and offshore sectors.
