Maritime software firm Awake.AI and Tidalis are joining forces to help ports and shipping companies handle expanding environmental reporting requirements.
The partnership will connect Awake.AI’s emissions monitoring platform with Tidalis’ port management and vessel traffic systems, which are already used by ports, coastguards and maritime authorities around the world.
The companies said the system is designed to convert operational information such as port calls, cargo handling, fuelling activity, shore power use and vessel movements into automated emissions reports.
The collaboration comes as the shipping sector faces increasing compliance pressure from measures including FuelEU Maritime, the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and greenhouse gas reduction targets from the International Maritime Organization.
Karno Tenovuo said the challenge for ports is no longer collecting operational data, but turning it into transparent and auditable emissions reporting.
Initial deployments are expected to begin at European ports this year before wider expansion into other regions during 2026 and 2027, the companies said.
