The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has welcomed the Polish Shipping Association as a full member.

The Polish Shipping Association will join the ICS Board and committees, taking part in discussions on issues including decarbonisation, maritime safety and digitalisation.

ICS said the move strengthens its representation of the global shipping industry, with members from more than 40 countries and territories.

According to ICS, Poland’s maritime sector contributes more than EUR 3.5 billion to the country’s economy.

ICS Secretary General Thomas A. Kazakos said the organisation looked forward to working with Polish shipowners on key industry challenges.

Polish Shipping Association Director Marcin Talwik said the membership would strengthen the international position of Polish shipowners and improve access to global shipping networks and policy discussions.
