Fratelli Cosulich Marine Energy has expanded its bunker fleet with the delivery of Lucia Cosulich, the second of four methanol-ready IMO II bunker tankers being built under its fleet renewal programme.
The vessel was handed over at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard in China and has been designed to support current bunkering operations while allowing for a future conversion to methanol propulsion.
Fratelli Cosulich said the tanker is part of its strategy to modernise its fleet with vessels offering greater operational efficiency, safety and flexibility as demand for lower-carbon marine fuels grows.
Following delivery, Lucia Cosulich will complete final commissioning before entering commercial service, adding further capacity to the company’s bunkering operations.
