Marine fuel supplier Peninsula is marking its 30th anniversary, highlighting its evolution from a small bunker company into a global marine energy provider.

Founded in 1996, the company now operates 21 commercial offices and supplies marine fuels across more than 500 ports worldwide. Its network includes over 50 physical supply locations and storage facilities, supporting its global operations.

Peninsula’s logistics are supported by vessels owned and chartered through sister company Hercules Tanker Management, enabling fuel deliveries and independent freight services.

As shipping moves towards decarbonisation, Peninsula said it is expanding its lower-carbon fuel offering, including biofuels, LNG and bio-LNG, alongside other alternative marine energy solutions aimed at meeting tightening regulatory requirements.

“Our ambition has always been to do business the right way, with integrity, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to our customers and partners.”

John A. Bassadone, CEO and Founder of Peninsula.

The company employs more than 500 people across over 40 nationalities, with staff playing a central role in coordinating global operations and maintaining safety and operational standards.

“People have always been our greatest asset,” Bassadone added. “Their dedication is what has transformed Peninsula from a small supplier in 1996 to a global leader in 2026.”
