Spain-based shipping and logistics firm SUARDIAZ Group has expanded its tanker fleet with the acquisition of RS Onza, an IMO II chemical tanker capable of transporting methanol.
The vessel will operate for Spain-based energy company Moeve under an agreement signed through SUARDIAZ Energy, the company said Thursday.
Recently delivered to SUARDIAZ in Singapore, RS Onza is already operating in European ports, mainly in Spain.
SUARDIAZ said the tanker is equipped with technology designed for the transport and delivery of new marine fuels including methanol.
The company added that the agreement strengthens its long-standing relationship with Moeve and supports efforts to develop lower-emission maritime fuel logistics solutions.
SUARDIAZ Energy currently operates offshore vessels as well as tanker and bunker barge operations in locations including Barcelona and Ceuta.
The group also said additional projects are under development, including new vessels scheduled for delivery in 2027 and the design of an LNG bunker vessel.
