Westwood Global Energy Group has launched MarineLogix, a new offshore vessel intelligence platform aimed at improving market transparency across offshore oil and gas, offshore wind and energy transition sectors.

The platform covers more than 10,000 offshore support, service and wind-related vessels globally, spanning over 2,500 owners and more than 30 vessel classes. MarineLogix combines vessel profiles, interactive mapping, utilisation analytics and market news to help users track vessel availability, activity and performance.

A core feature of MarineLogix is its purpose-built historic utilisation methodology, which Westwood said delivers a consistent, like-for-like measure of offshore vessel activity. Rather than relying on generic movement data, the platform processes large volumes of AIS information to construct continuous activity timelines that reflect actual offshore working behaviour.

Vessel activity is analysed against Westwood’s proprietary offshore infrastructure datasets, allowing utilisation and benchmarking by region, vessel class and market segment.

The launch comes amid increasing volatility across offshore markets, with tighter deployment windows, regional bottlenecks and shifting demand patterns raising the risk of asset underutilisation and missed commercial opportunities.

Chen Wei, senior manager for offshore marine at Westwood, said MarineLogix addresses long-standing challenges around inconsistent vessel activity metrics, giving owners, operators and investors clearer signals to support deployment and investment decisions.

Westwood CEO Dominic Ferry said the platform expands the company’s OffshoreLogix environment, complementing vessel intelligence with insights across rigs, subsea, platforms and offshore wind to provide a more connected view of offshore market dynamics.
