Terra Mater BV and US specialty fuel distributor Hyperfuels LLC have formed a partnership to expand the availability of Terrox, a low-carbon, ethanol-free fuel blend component aimed at the recreational marine sector.
Announced at the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop, the agreement combines Terra Mater’s patented 2X oxygenate technology with Hyperfuels’ distribution network to serve boaters, marina operators and marine fuel dealers.
The companies said Terrox is designed to be blended with gasoline and used in existing engines and fuelling systems without modification. As an ethanol-free product, it is intended to reduce issues such as moisture absorption and phase separation that can affect boat engines and fuel storage.
According to the firms, the fuel burns more cleanly than conventional gasoline and can help reduce smog-forming emissions and other harmful air pollutants.
Initial volumes will be supplied from Terra Mater’s production facility at North Sea Port in Belgium, with the partners targeting a rollout across the US East Coast in Q3 2026.
Future US production could be considered as demand grows.
